Having received my secondary and tertiary education in Ghana and the UK, respectively, I possess a deep understanding of the challenges various ethnicities encounter in dealing with long-term health conditions. Immersed in both worlds, I’ve cultivated a profound understanding of diverse perspectives.
With over 30 years of expertise in the dynamic healthcare landscape of the UK, I am an experienced clinical pharmacist. My journey began in the immersive setting of hospitals, where I honed my skills across various aspects of clinical pharmacy—from respiratory and cardiovascular to cancer. Transitioning to the role of a primary care commissioning pharmacist, I eventually served as the Head of Medicines Management, leading a team of dedicated professionals offering prescribing advice to General Practitioners.
In 2017, my life took a personal turn when I was diagnosed with prediabetes. Faced with this health challenge, I embarked on a transformative journey, successfully containing the condition through meaningful lifestyle changes. This experience ignited my interest in Lifestyle Medicine, propelling me to support individuals worldwide on their paths to improved health and reduced reliance on medications.
Driven by my personal experience and a passion for metabolic health, particularly focused on diabetes—I made a pivotal decision after 30 years to leave the NHS and pursue a career in supporting individuals in reversing long-term conditions.
My commitment is unwavering. I strive to enhance the health of as many individuals as possible, with a primary focus on preventing the development of these conditions. For those already grappling with such health challenges, I aim to provide opportunities for either remission or improved management.
